Garde-Adhémar Viaduct

The strong image of the project heralds the return of steel to
high speed railway bridge construction. This pair of simple
bowstring arches is unconventionally linked by the high
stabilizing struts to achieve a particularly stiff railway surface
with competitive steel weight and clean detailing. Large
building elements were transported by pontoon and erected
by a floating crane.
