New bascule bridge for Dover loaded

After months of hard work from platers, welders and painters, we loaded 7 pieces of steelwork (160T in total) on a HEBO barge in Wondelgem, Ghent. The bridge surfacing is already applied on the deck in factory conditions, guaranteeing a good quality.  Our gantry crane lifted the bridge deck in a 4-point lift from the quay onto the barge. After loading, the parts were secured on the barge deck and inspected by a marine warranty surveryor.

Next week, the barge will leave for Dover, where it will be installed by our client Qualter Hall & Co Ltd. The bascule bridge is part of the Dover Western Docks Revivial project, realized by Port of Dover.
